Possessions? Social standing? Wealth? Religion? Charity?<br \/>Not any of that.<\/h5>\n<h5>She took a deep sigh and wondered, <em>&#8220;What&#8217;s it all about?&#8221;<\/em><\/h5>\n<h4>Three minutes to live.<\/h4>\n<h5>She stretched and yawned. <em>&#8220;Well, I&#8217;ve had some great experiences,&#8221;<\/em> she thought.<br \/>&#8220;Parents that loved me. Children that I love.<br \/>\u2014Loving the beauty of our sculptured Earth.<br \/>\u2014Thrilled to see Condors in flight,<br \/>\u2014Grizzlies caring for their young,<br \/>\u2014A thriving coral reef 70 feet underwater, and<br \/>\u2014Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, just for fun.<br \/>\u2014Loving, over and over, all the sensuous beauty a body can experience.<\/h5>\n<h4>Two minutes to live.<\/h4>\n<h5>She smiled to herself, remembering the tough times.<br \/>\u2014First date disaster,<br \/>\u2014\u2014Divorce fiasco,<br \/>\u2014\u2014Car wreck,<br \/>\u2014\u2014\u2014Alcoholics Anonymous,<br \/>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014Bankruptcy,<br \/>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014Abusive husband,<br \/>Waking up in the hospital.<\/h5>\n<h4>One minute to live,\u00a0<\/h4>\n<h5>And she popped out of her body.<br \/>Looking down at the machines keeping her alive and<br \/>All her loved ones gathered around,<br \/><em>\u201cOh my goodness,<\/em>\u201d she thought, and finally understood.<\/h5>\n<h5>Life is about learning to love, and sometimes the lessons hurt.<br \/>She knew, because she was leaving as a very different person<br \/>From the one who had been born a hundred years ago.<\/h5>\n<h5>The machines shut down.<\/h5>\n<h4>ZOOM!\u00a0 She was out of there, experiencing the thrill of Freedom, the blinding light of Bliss.<\/h4>\n<h5>She watched her body breathe four times, then take a final deep sigh\u2014<br \/>As if relieved of a burden.<\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>&#8220;Oh! So much better than a corporeal experience!&#8221;<\/em> she thought as she<br \/>Wrapped herself in a cloud of pure white, splendid, Divine LoveLight.<\/h5>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h5>Snuggled and packed together with other cloud-beings, she wiggled<br \/>Into comfort\u2014and time passed, and passed, and nothing happened.<br \/>She longed for activity, wishing that something could at least itch.<br \/>But no . . . . . . Nothing.<\/h5>\n<h5>At last she realized that Life in a breathing, feeling body,<br \/>Learning lessons\u2014even painful ones\u2014was entertaining.<br \/>At least there were things to do, places to go, people laughing, talking, planning.<br \/>And, <em>nothing<\/em> was as delightful as scratching.<br \/>Not even Chocolate.<\/h5>\n<h5>So she elbowed the closest cloud of splendid light.<br \/><em>&#8220;When do we get to do it again?&#8221;<\/em> she asked.<\/h5>\n<h5>The cloud nodded at the long line ahead.<\/h5>\n<h5>She stared at miles and miles of splendid clouds<br \/>Disappearing into the future.<\/h5>\n<h5>Then Truth thundered home.<\/h5>\n<h4><em>&#8220;Patience. I must learn patience in Heaven, because I didn&#8217;t on Earth.&#8221;<\/em><\/h4>\n<h5>She giggled.
