Baby Wisdom
Don’t pray for me.
You know not your power, nor what you do.
Rather, pray for yourself:
That you have the strength to keep up;
That you have the wisdom to follow my lead;
That you may join me in a fresh seeing of the world.
Dare to look through my eyes.
Laugh with me at bugs.
Roll on the floor with my puppy.
Be stunned by dew-laden spider webs.
Get lost in the sunset.
Feel the wonder of life in thunder and lightning.
Climb a crooked tree.
Come on Inside, follow me.
Join me in seeing miracles.
Then, come, be a miracle with me.
But don’t pray for me.
Be my witness.
Through ever-loving eyes,
Watch this child of God
Grow into its promise.
And so,
You do too.
