TRUE HUMILITY

 

DO YOU HAVE IT?

True humility is knowing

That you do nothing of yourself

And taking responsibility for it,

Anyway.

 

True humility is knowing

That higher powers work you,

Work through you,

Sometimes for obscure Good,

Sometimes for assumed chaos.

Sometimes for no apparent reason at all.

 

And you ride out the storms

Wearing a crooked little smile,

Taking responsibility,

Making mistakes,

Learning the lessons,

Not doing it again,

Keeping silent,

Minding your own business.

Following your heart.

 

That’s True Humility.
