But hung out to flap in the wind
By practically every school, worth its name,
Since before Delphi.
Do the very best you can in all circumstances,
With the maximum integrity you can muster,
The greatest ethics you understand,
The purest love you can generate, and
The deepest compassion you can rally.
Now, throw into that mix: being kind, generous, even- tempered,
And toss in more than a tad of humility.
That’s enough to wrinkle your brain with the trying and
Keep you from worrying about finding Your Way.
Keep you from frantically searching here and there,
Trying this Way, then another Way, because somebody said
That’s THE WAY—as if there were only one Way.

And you’re already living it,
Whether or not you know it.
Whether you agree or not,
The life you’re living is The Way your Soul chose to incarnate.
Now, release those grandiose ideas
About becoming a messiah.
Suck up your arrogance,
