REVELATION #2

SURPRISE !

She was glad she didn’t have a clock.
“Be still. Don’t move. Breathe,” she thought.
Second by second
Pain flowed through her.
“Breathe slow, eyes closed,
Let It Go. Take it deep,” she thought.
Remember tall pines reflecting in glass ponds,
A quiet sunrise . . . A gaudy sunset.
Remember sand castles, crashing waves,
Blazing light and quiet night.
Call the nurse! No!
Stay with the pain.
Don’t move!
Be still . . . . . This too shall pass.

And she woke up dead,
Looked around, tried to take a deep breath
And didn’t need to.
“Hmm,” she thought.
“No body, no pain.”
She thought again, and was on the beach . . . .  then inside the wave . . . .
Then 80 feet down . . . .  eyeball to eyeball with a shark.
A quicker thought, and she was in the forest . . . .  inside a tree . . . .
Following a squirrel . . . .  seeing its babies . . . . . sitting on the highest limb
Surveying the cloud shrouded mountains.
She constantly felt what might have been called Joy,
If she’d had a body.
Still, she still couldn’t stop thinking—free travel—!
Disneyland . . . . .  Mt. Everest . . . . .  Mars . . . . . Middle Earth
Galactic Black Hole . . . . . Heaven & . . . . . . .
“What?!  . . . . No Hell? . . . Geeze!
This is a between-lifetimes revelation worth remembering!”
